What is in your style piles?

Although it is still summer weather on the central coast, fall is quickly approaching. I can't wait to layer sweaters with scarves and mix colors. I can't get enough of the rich fall colors. A few of my favorites are the rich chestnuts mixed with eggplant. I also love burnt olive mixed with mahogany. Below are some inspirational color blocking options. What color are you craving this fall?

Untitled from Tim Walker on Vimeo.
This week has started with getting bogged down with details. Hectic schedules mixed with the day to day busy life stuff left me with a headache......I was in dire need of some inspiration. Flipping through Vogue I was in awe of the photography by Tim Walker. Tim Walker is a very famous photographer for Vogue and I love his stylistic view from the lens. He has a romantic and whimsical way of viewing fashion.
Where do you get your creative inspiration?

With September fast approaching I am already thinking of how I can incorporate some of my summer wardrobe into fall. I came up with this color story as a transitional color palette from August into September. I love the basic colors of navy, sand and caramel with the pop of orange. I plan on adding orange into my wardrobe for fall, check back next week when I post my must-haves for fall.

Happy belated fourth of July!! We spent the long weekend in Sacramento and San Francisco visiting my best friend and her husband. We went berry picking and filled up on blueberries and cherries. We made a berry crisp and had dinners on their roof! Most nights were spent bike riding and staying up late chatting. On the forth we drove to the city and went to a Giants game. Although the Giants lost, we were content eating our chocolate malts and soaking up the city. We ended the night in Little Italy with a wonderful dinner and an amazing fireworks show.
How did you celebrate the fourth of July?

With all this June gloom weather I am trying to think of new ways to layer. The sweater is from Calypso and the darling desert boots are from L.L. Bean. You heard me right....L.L. Bean launched a new signature line that is hip and trendy, move over mom jeans, LL Bean Signature has some great stuff at a price point that won't break the bank.

Lately I have been inspired by all things nautical. I love stripes in every color and the beautiful textures of the sailing ropes. I loved this dress and the simplicity of it mixed with the shiny gold cuff bracelet. I absolutely adore these black flats with gold detailing. Now that I have the perfect sailing outfit, where should I sail to?? My husband gets mad when I post stuff about sailing and outfits because realistically I am wearing a windbreaker and sneakers. However, in my mind, I would be wearing this outfit sailing off the Amalfi coast.
Where would you sail to?

I don't know about you but I am getting a little tired of all the jeans and sweaters lately and am looking forward to spring! A few must have's this year are a pair of classic trousers with a big cuff like the ones above from J.Crew! I love the 70's feel that is making a come back this Spring. The Anthropologie dress is nautical in stripes but pops an unexpected color of tea rose which is... oh so pretty! I also love the quirky twist on the pearl necklace mixed with chains.
What is on your must have list this Spring?

It's no secret that my favorite indulgences is a french bakery here in town. Every Saturday morning you can find me there with a cup of coffee talking with girlfriends or with my husband. Renaud's has the best almond croissants, and vanilla lattes. Being there makes me dream of living in France where I could have croissants for every meal! Among other things I love is this adorable outift by Toast, the ankle boots are to die for! The clutch is from Etsy, handmade from an old french grain sack!

Working in the shoe business I have become somewhat of a lover of shoes! I am amazed by the craftsmanship of the shoe and all the details that go into a shoe, it truly is an art. I have come to appreciate leathers and materials in a whole new way once you see them on a shoe. I love this video J.Crew shared about their trip to Italy.

Hello Lovely readers, I have been getting a lot of questions on what I think of Anthropologie's wedding website that launched on Valentine's Day.....only one word amazing! I have known about this since last year when I worked for the company and have had to keep it a secret all this time!! Now that the word is out I couldn't be more delighted, just as I expected BHLDN is whimsical, romantic and holds everything a girl could hope for in a wedding. I seriously thought about delaying our wedding a year just so I could have an Anthro wedding. However we managed to survive and plan our own whimisical wedding, you can see pictures here..... After a dreary day today, I had the urge to get inspired for Spring. I am ready for sandals and fell head over heel in love with these wedges. I love the buckle detailing and mix of neutrals with a utilitarian feel. The dress is from Emersonmade, a crafty adorable girl who started her own clothing line, she has impeccable style and major talent.

Lately I have been inspired by all things neutral in tone or hues of chocolate. I love the natural color palette whether decorating for your home or layering clothing. A couple key pieces such as this classic trench coat and belt is all you need to complete your winter wardrobe and take you away from the winter blues.
