What are you going to BEE for Halloween?

Tim and I have decided to throw our own Halloween party. It is kind of last minute because we kept waiting for someone else to throw a party, but it never happened, so we decided to throw one! Hot tortilla soup, a costume walk off and carmel apples, can't wait! I am going to be a bee and Tim is going to be a bee keeper! Hahaha how funny are we!

Craving Sparkle

Everyone needs a little more sparkle in their life right? I am dying over these silver beaded bangles, they look great stacked or worn individually. (Plumo) The silver siquined bolero is also from Plumo, the perfect winter accessory to go over a holiday simple dress. And of course a beautiful ring with a ginormous diamond always makes a girl smile!(Image from Martha Stewart)

I have had the same dilemma trying to find the perfect pair that achieves this look and are comfortable. Here are a variety of boots I put together ranging from $189- $498. Hope this helps Patricia, let me know what you find!

First Date Jitters- Fashion Dilemma

We have all been there, standing in front of the mirror with nothing to wear, trying on a million different outfits, your room looks like a bomb went off as you frantically try to sift through your wardrobe, hoping that the perfect date outfit will appear out of thin air. My friend has a big first date tomorrow, and she is really excited but needed some ideas on what to wear. They are going to dinner and a movie, usually I would say go with jeans and a great top but my friend loves skirts and dresses so here are a few options, that are feminine yet casual. But remember the best fashion accessory is confidence!

Have a great time let me know how the date goes!

The Well Dressed Home

I am kind of obsessed with this new book called The Well dressed Home, by Annette Tatum. Annette picks inspiration from the fashion world or your own closet and designs one of a kind rooms based on your wardrobe tastes! I couldn't be more in love with the concept. So I took the challenge and pulled out a pair of my favorite boots and found a picture of a room that I love. My fashion taste could be described as classic, romantic and sometimes rugged hence the boots. But I always love pairing a dress with my boots to make it more feminine. I believe this room has a little bit of it all!
Please share inspiration...what would your room look like inspired after your wardrobe?

Blustery Storms= Cabin Fever

I don't know about you but the rain has gotten me in the mood to bundle up in sweaters and pull out the boots! The boots and wonderful mohair socks are from a company called Plumo, a british online company that carries treasures for the home as well as clothes. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites places to shop. The plaid cable knit jacket is the perfect outwear for a winter's night stroll.

Item of the Week

After a warm month of September, it has started to feel like fall here in Santa Barbara. Today was our first rain and it immediately had my dreaming of the coziest sweater I could wrap up in. I love this one from Anthropologie! What I love is you can wear this 3 different ways, tied, untied, or buttoned! Each look is great and is the perfect fall essential to complete your wardrobe!

Her show is held at the Dana Powers barn in Nipomo. My mom has vendors that she hand selects to be in her show, and all her vendors have fabulous stuff. Every year I try to go to support her and see the show. You should come too!! All you Remnants of the Past followers I hope to see you there, leave a comment and I will try to find you on Saturday!

Jewerly for your Feet

I have to tell you about my small love affair with my new shoes! I was not in the market for shoes, I have been ready to pack up my sandals and bring on the boots but I stumbled across the most adorable boutique lucialovesluigi, the staff was incredible helpful and welcoming. The store has lots of indie designers and old favorites like Nicole Miller and Paul & Joe. Anyways back to the shoes, I love the red stones and the small adorned gold jewel in the center. I plan on wearing these as much as I can before the cold weather hits! If you are a local in Santa Barbara stop by and check lucia loves luigi at 21 W. Ortega Street, Santa Barbara

Scandinavian Inspired

I couldn't help but be inspired by my work's new apparel concept, gaining creative inspiration from Iceland and the Scandinavian ocean. The color palette is gray, purple and blues with pops of red. The look is layered, comfy and cozy. Rebecca Taylor was also inspired by Swedish fairy tales and incorporated that look in her fall 09 show at New York Fashion Week! I don't think I will be sporting the furry vest down state street but I do have my eyes set on the Marc Jacobs dress and cozy moccasins!

Pumpkin Patch Inspiration Board

A trip to the pumpkin patch inspired my inspiration board for today. On Sunday my boyfriend and I went to Lane Farms and indulged in the corn maze and stocked up on lovely pumpkins, and funky gourds. I couldn't help but pick out the perfect cozy outfit, a great knit sweater with big buttons and a pair of worn-in corduroys while sitting on this lovely couch burning this wonderful candle that makes the room smell of freshly baked pumpkin pie!

Bright Idea

Twist on basics. This classic black jacket comes to life with the unconventional feminine blouse. The unexpected colors in the bag give this outfit a pop that it needs. I love the vintage feel of this jacket, it looks like it could be Chanel, with it's heavy fabric and attention to detail. A classic black jacket can be a great essential to your wardrobe for fall, it is easy to pair with a dress, skirt or with jeans!

Have a Delightful Weekend

"Simplify" is going to be the theme of my weekend. I don't know about you guys but I have had a hectic week and look forward to a relaxing weekend! So whatever you do this weekend simplify and relax!

Item of the Week

This might be the perfect bootie with it's richness in mahogany color and twisted braided detail, makes my heart swoon. This heel is a great height that you could last on your feet all day, which is a plus. These would look great paired with textured tights or with a great pair of distressed denim. They are investment piece at $188 from Anthropologie.
